“There are so many great bands in Oxford at the moment and we can’t release them all! So this mix tape is our contribution to the wider music scene, and will hopefully be something that the Oxford bands and fans of 2019 can take home and keep as a snapshot of this moment. We’re still listening to last year’s mix tape, and we’re planning to make this an annual tradition. Of course it only represents our view of Oxford music, the bands we know and love. There’s so much more out there, and I’d love to see people make more mix tapes of their own corners of the scene!”
— Ben Walker, Head of Mix Tapes, Beanie Tapes
You should totally follow all the featured bands on Bandcamp to find out when they’re releasing new music! We wholeheartedly recommend them all, and would love for a few more people to discover them off the back of this mix. Some aren’t on Bandcamp, but you know how to search other places, right?

Thanks to all the bands for offering their tracks so generously, to Léa Morales-Chanard for designing another stunning tape, to Max Blansjaar for helping to whittle down a very long longlist and to Truck Store for letting us take over the space on Cassette Store Day to celebrate the launch of this beautiful creation. ✨
